Welcome to Better in touch - Southend
Southend has now commissioned intouch and Family Mosaic to provide the new access arrangements, known as the gateway service, for the Floating Support Service. To meet this aim the service will have an “open access” approach, which simply means that anybody who has a connection to Southend and has a housing support need can apply for a service. We take direct applications, applications from family or friends and applications from statutory, community and voluntary services and we operate a priority based waiting list to manage demand at peak times.
We are committed to meeting the housing support needs of a wide spectrum of people across the local communities we work in and this includes people with more complex and challenging support needs. To support this aim we are committed to providing a priority response to those people who find themselves in a housing crisis. If you are applying for support either for yourself or on behalf of someone else and you or they are in crisis please make that clear on your application so we can respond accordingly.
To find out more about the type of support we can provide, how to contact us and apply directly for a service please follow the links above, or please feel free to make any general enquires about our service in Southend, or in touch in General. We have also included links to all our main partners in Southend including Southend Borough Council, where you can find out more about housing related support services across the Borough.
If you are interested in potential job opportunities linked to this new service please go to “interested in working for us” page on the site where there are more details on the opportunities available.
